Security Guards for Homes in Model Town, Garden Town and Faisal Town, Lahore
Count the people who come through your front gate on an ordinary weekday. The milkman arrives first, then the maid, a tutor, two delivery riders, and an electrician who promised ten o’clock and showed up at two. Some are familiar faces, some are not, and in a lot of older houses nobody writes down which is which.
That’s everyday life for families in Model Town, Garden Town and Faisal Town, and this guide is written for them. If you own or rent a house in one of these three localities and you are thinking about hiring security guards for your home, we have tried to answer the questions that usually come first. The gated schemes are left out on purpose, because an open, older neighborhood has different weak spots and needs a different answer.
Below we cover what makes these places hard to watch, what a trained guard does from morning until night, how many guards a house really needs, and what to ask before you sign anything. We are the team at Clutch Security Services, and we place guards at houses, offices, factories and events across Lahore.
What Makes These Three Areas Different From a Gated Scheme
A scheme such as Bahria Town is built as one package, with a boundary wall, controlled entrances and a management office. (If you live inside one, our guide to security guard services for Bahria Town homes fits you better.) Model Town, Garden Town and Faisal Town are older, established neighborhoods that filled in street by street over decades, so the real boundary of your security is your own wall.
Start with the houses. Plots here were laid out long ago, often ten marla or a kanal, with a front gate, a side door, a back lane and sometimes a separate entrance for the servant quarter. Boundary walls change height from one plot to the next, mature trees hide the porch from the road, and a trunk standing against the wall works as a ladder for anyone patient enough to use it.
Then look at the roads. The stretch between Faisal Town and Johar Town has turned commercial, Garden Town’s edges meet the crowds at Kalma Chowk and Barkat Market, and Link Road is a busy commercial strip on the Model Town side. In places, front rooms have become boutiques and upper floors tuition centers or clinics, so a person waiting near your entrance hardly looks out of place. WikipediaWikipedia
Daytime brings its own gaps. Parents are at work, children are at school, an elderly relative may be resting while household staff come and go, and if part of the house is rented out, the tenants’ visitors use your doorstep too. Some homes stay empty or half used for months because the family spends time abroad. If that sounds like yours, read protecting your property in Pakistan while you are living abroad alongside this guide.
All of which leaves one plain question: who’s watching your own gate at midnight?
Hour by Hour: What a Home Security Guard Actually Does
Most people picture someone in uniform on a plastic chair near the entrance. That’s the visible part of the job. The rest follows a routine, and it makes more sense when you walk through a day.
Morning. The guard walks the boundary and the side lane, looking for anything that changed overnight: a mark on the gate, an unfamiliar vehicle left outside, a bulb that stopped working. The gate opens for the milkman and household staff once they are recognized.
Daytime. Visitors and deliveries come through the gate, not around it. The guard asks who they are and whom they came to see, calls someone inside, and writes names and vehicle numbers in a register. Parcels wait at the entrance unless the family says otherwise.
Evening. The road fills up again with school pickups, tutors, guests and parked cars. Lights come on, the entrance gets a second look, and anyone who keeps circling the block gets noticed.
Night. Doors, windows, the side gate and the back lane are inspected at fixed times rather than whenever somebody happens to wake up. If something looks wrong, the guard messages the family first and then calls Police Emergency 15 or Rescue 1122 as needed.
Most of the value arrives before anything goes wrong, because an alert, visible person at the entrance changes the mind of anyone choosing which house to try. When something serious does happen, the job is to raise the alarm fast and keep the family out of harm’s way. Be wary of any company that promises its guards will catch criminals or take over the police’s work. A guard watches, deters and calls for help, and that’s already plenty.
Home Security in Model Town, Garden Town and Faisal Town
Every locality has its own habits, and a sensible plan starts from them. Here is what we look at first in each.
Security Guards for Homes in Model Town
Model Town began in the early 1920s as a cooperative society, and a century of tree growth shows. Parks sit inside most blocks, gardens run deep, and a good number of houses stand on large plots with more than one way in. zameenzameen
The Model Town Society keeps a security office of its own, which helps on the shared roads and parks. It can’t stand at your gate, recognize your tenant’s visitors, or tell you whether the courier outside is the one you were expecting. zameenilmkidunya
Parks beside houses add a quirk of their own. People are always nearby, so someone lingering outside your wall looks like part of the crowd. Corner houses face the biggest challenge, with two street sides and often two gates. One person at the main entrance leaves the side lane unwatched, so a large corner plot may need a second post or a timed night round.
Home Security in Garden Town
Garden Town dates back to around 1960 and sits between Model Town and Gulberg. Heavy traffic presses against its edges at Kalma Chowk, and the market at Barkat Market adds shoppers and parked cars. graana
Because the edges are busy and many of the lanes behind them are not, early warning matters most here. A guard who watches the lane and not only the gate notices the car idling for an hour or the same bike passing for the third time. Several houses also let out a portion, so the register should cover everyone who comes in, not just the family on the ground floor.
Guarding Houses in Faisal Town
Faisal Town runs along the Canal Bank Road close to Johar Town, and the roads between the two have become steadily more commercial. The Civic Centre market in C Block is the neighborhood’s biggest, and the lanes around it get crowded. Area Guides +2
Houses near the market streets and the Johar Town road see the most foot and bike traffic, so entry rules matter most: nobody comes in without a call to someone inside, vehicle numbers get noted, and the side door stays locked. School hours add their own rush, with parked cars filling the lanes, so a guard who can see past the gate to the road is worth more than one who only watches the latch.

Keep Your Chowkidar or Hire Through a Company?
Lots of families already have a chowkidar they trust, often someone who has stood at the same entrance for years. Nothing in this guide says that person should go. The weak spot is the system around the job. Nobody has trained the chowkidar in access control, nobody visits to check on the post, and when illness or Eid takes them back to the village, the gate is simply open.
A guard supplied by a company comes with identity and background checks before placement, training in access control and emergency response, a supervisor who visits the post, a replacement when the regular guard is absent, and written records you can point to if there is ever a dispute. That costs more than a private arrangement, and what you are paying for is accountability.
Cameras belong in the picture too, though they do a different job. A camera doesn’t stop anyone; it shows what happened after the fact, while a guard can question a stranger at the gate and call you before anything goes wrong. Cameras also depend on electricity and an internet connection, and both can drop out at the worst moment. On an open road, the two together cover more than either does alone.
How Many Guards Should a Lahore House Have?
It depends on the size of the plot, the number of gates, who is home during the day and how exposed your road is. These are common setups:
- A night guard only, for a house that is busy and occupied by day but quiet after dark.
- Separate day and night guards, which suit bigger houses, corner plots and families with a steady flow of visitors.
- A gate guard plus a night round, for large plots where one person can’t see the whole boundary.
- Short term cover for weddings, mehndi nights and family gatherings, or for the weeks when the property stands empty.
One person cannot stand at a gate for 24 hours. Full day and night protection takes two guards on twelve hour shifts or three on eight hour shifts, plus a reliever for weekly days off. If a quote for round the clock coverage lists a single guard, ask who stands there for the other twelve hours. Contracts can run by the hour, by the day or for the long term, so a few days around a wedding or a holiday are possible too.
For most family houses, unarmed guards are the sensible choice, since the work is watching, screening visitors and raising the alarm. Armed guards enter the conversation when there is a particular threat, such as cash or valuables kept at the property, and only after an assessment and within the licensing rules. We offer both, and we settle on the right one after seeing your house.
Small Changes at the Gate That Make a Guard More Useful
Even a good guard struggles at a badly arranged post, and a few cheap changes help a lot.
Start with the view. If a hedge, a parked car or a pillar blocks the line between the post and the road, fix that first. Put a bright bulb over the gate and another on the side lane, and hand over a torch. In smog and fog months a tree lined street can fade out beyond two or three houses, which makes lighting matter even more.
Think about comfort too. Shade in summer, shelter in winter, drinking water and a bathroom nearby are part of the arrangement, not favors. People who are miserable at a post find reasons to leave it.
Tell the guard who is expected, such as the plumber on Thursday or the tutor at five, and agree on duties in writing. A guard who is sent to buy bread, wash the car or take the children to school isn’t at the gate. Pin a card inside the booth with Police Emergency 15, Rescue 1122 and the numbers of two people in the family, so nobody has to scroll through a phone in a hurry.
Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Security Guard Company in Lahore
Put these to any company, including us.
- License and registration: Can they show company papers, and do they operate within Punjab’s private security regulations?
- Verification: How are guards screened before placement, and can the company confirm that for the person assigned to your gate?
- Training: What have the guards learned, from access control and incident reporting to fire response and handling a difficult visitor?
- Supervision: Who visits the post, how often, and is each visit recorded?
- Backup: What happens when your guard is sick or on leave, and how fast does a replacement arrive?
- Pay and rest: Are guards paid on time and given a weekly day off? A rested guard stays sharper.
- Reporting and contract: How will you hear about an incident, what is the notice period, and who carries liability when something goes wrong?
Be careful with the lowest quote. It often leaves out supervision or backup, the parts that keep a guard dependable after the first month. If the answers come easily now, the service is likely to run the same way later. If they come slowly, take that as your answer.
How Clutch Security Services Plans a Home Assignment in Lahore
Before we talk about guard numbers, we come and look at the house. A consultant walks the boundary, tries the gates, notes how well the side lane is lit and sits down with the family to understand a normal week: who visits, when everyone is out, which weeks the house stands empty. The plan that follows covers how many guards you need, which shifts they work and whether armed or unarmed cover fits better.
Guards are background verified and trained before they reach your gate. Field supervisors visit the post, and our control room can be reached day and night. For standard requirements a guard usually starts within 24 to 72 hours, and sooner when the situation is urgent. Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a security guard for a house in Lahore cost?
The price depends on how many guards you need, how long each shift runs, whether the cover is armed or unarmed, and how much supervision comes with it. A night only post costs far less than two shifts covering the whole day. After the site visit we send a written quotation, so you know exactly what is included before you commit.
Do I still need my own guard if my street has a barrier or a society security office?
Those help at street level, but they don’t stand at your gate, screen your visitors or know your household staff. A guard assigned to your house does those jobs, and the two layers work well together.
Can I hire a guard for nights only, or just while the house is empty?
Yes. Cover can run by the hour, the day or on a longer contract, so night only posts, weekend cover and a few weeks while you’re away are all possible. Tell us which hours worry you and we’ll quote around them.
Do I need an armed guard for my house?
Most family houses do not. Unarmed guards handle gate control, visitor screening and night rounds well. Armed cover is worth discussing when there is a specific threat, such as cash or valuables at the property, and it depends on an assessment and on licensing rules.
How quickly can a guard start?
For standard requirements, deployment typically takes 24 to 72 hours, and it can be faster when the situation is urgent. Mention your timeline when you contact us.
